My job is not original at all . It is easy to identify my contemporary influences, to whom I recognize as masters: HR Giger and Dali.
However, the aesthetic pleasure that generates this type of art goes beyond the shape or surface, because the meanings that explores these representations, are deeply buried in the origin of our darkest and primitive distinctions.
A simple way to approximate to the sense of this type of art is trough Enrico Castelli and what has been called "of the demonic in art." Castelli uses this concept, not to define a particular type of style or artistic movement or theological, but he use it to identify a particular type of representation in art, particularly in theological painters of the Middle Ages. Importantly, "of the demonic in art" is not about art dedicated only to representing demons or entities with religious significance, instead they are assigned to the numerous attempts to represent the unrepresentable, in other words "is the being that is not" which is the philosophical meaning of "demon". Such entities that "are and are not" at the same time, was represent when they put together two different things. The result was a dog-headed creatures and fish body, so ¿It´s a dog or a Fish?. There is not a right answer because is not a possible being. This is the meaning of "The demon", beings that represent a impossible concept or idea, creatures that creep the viewer and even invite you to deduct their real nature (This is "the demonic temptation" according to Castelli).
Despite the diverse representation of the demonic, is always linked to all the thing we don´t like: the pain, the ugliness, the darkness, the death and all the things are not desirable to the Culture. Is normal and predictible that the regular people think:This is crap!. But this is the espected results with this kind of art.
Even so "the demonic" attracts inexorably, but not to all, just some abandon the escape and recognize in these representations a beauty beyond the meaning of the beautiful and the ugliness.
These works are an exercise in symbolic improvisation as a personal catharsis.
Frustration, fear, dependency, depression, ambivalence, anger, nausea, self-control, apathy, desire, disinterest and sadness from personal and archetypal symbols.
Inhabitants of the dark corner, images to fill the hollow.
